Is your face pointed at the screen? Of course it is. You can look away, but you're still part of the picture. Can you see the gaffers? And the grips? If you're lucky you might see the director, but you'd probably pee your pants. I did.

Stepping away from the camera takes practice and discipline. They teach you images to hold in your mind -- like The Dagger in the Lily -- to trigger the specific variagate protocols. If you're lucky, the set comes down like clockwork. Supposedly. But there always seems to be one monkey in the spanner, catching on a curtain as it flies away.
