@Sthephie Serpenthine HEY. I'LL HAVE YOU KNOW WE COULD COMPLETELY COMPETENTLY PERFORM A MUSICAL STAGE SHOW.

Being an electronic musician is NOT just PRESSING BUTTONS. It's more than that!!! I have to press keys. and push sliders too! and uh. i have to turn dials and plug in cables!!!...
...

Okay, maybe my musical methods aren't the most stage suitable... but we could still try? Oh who am I kidding. we really do need some more band members. I'll shoehorn an announcement into the first LGBT+ meeting that we have! But until then, if anyone sees this post then please feel free to respond!

Power Value Stance is having another show next Friday. It's at an all-ages show at Sapir/Whorf, which is the anarchist bookstore in town. @Hormiga Man and his Cassandra Propaganda will be there, and not sure who else, but if you and your band want to play there @Kayla May I'm sure you can be on the bill. You can open!!

I'm now playing tambourine with Power Value Stance, which is like my dream come true. It's actually a really important part of their new sound, since with it they can now broadcast color higher into the 700THz range. But boy does my arm get tired!

My great-great aunt was the mistress of a magician who performed the Cassandra Propaganda back in the 1800's, and I urge everyone to stay away. They don't know what they're dealing with, or how to protect you. If anything, people should be figuring out how to shut it down.

I've got some old newspaper clippings back at home that tell all about the "Carnage in Kalamazoo," which I will dig up. They didn't know if it was an earthquake or a thunderstorm or a hurricane, but the eyewitness accounts are chilling - especially the part about the "Snow-men" that wreaked havoc and death on the people of Kalamazoo.

Whatever it takes, @Hormiga Man and the Cassandra Propaganda should be stopped. Aren't there licenses or permits you need to do this kind of magical experiment? The school is completely neglecting its responsibility in not controlling this.

I volunteer after school at Saphir/Whorf, the infoshop. Some people call it a bookstore but it's not - it has a lending library. And computers, and coffee (pay what you can). And a needle exchange, now that turntables are so popular again.

It attracts a lot of interesting "alternative" characters from town, but they don't know about Psychic High School, or about real psychic youth. They kind of guess or pretend that we exist, but if you don't experience it for yourself, then you can't really believe it, can you?

They are mostly good people who really want to change things, so I like them, and I alphabetize the books in the lending library or clean the bathrooms or whatever needs doing. And then I use their computers and drink their coffee. And maybe their bathroom.

It's also a place local bands perform. Tomorrow there are some bands from Psyhigh playing, which is something they've never had before. I hope it doesn't blow everybody's minds too much! Or bore them to death. ;)

Here's one of those newspaper clippings I was telling you about:

---
Kalamazoo Gazette, November 14, 1874 -- Considerable excitement was created last night about half past nine o'clock by the terrifying and unexplained events centering around the Arcadia Opera House. A freak lightning and hailstorm entirely destroyed the recently finished theater, and did considerable damage to Moran's drug store and the adjoining buildings. Moran was in bed in the rear of the store at the time. He was lying near a window, and made a narrow escape from death or serious injuries.

Along with the lightning strikes, ensuing fires, earth tremors, hail, and high winds, Moran's reports of events are quite chilling. He claims that several figures, which he described as "snow men," added to the destruction by tearing down walls by hand and attacking residents and passers-by alike.

"They was shaped just like you and me, but filled with a white and terrible snow. Full of bright and sparkle, but mindless and evil they were, tearing and ripping at anything they could get their hands on, like it was all just a doll's house."

Moran is recovering at the Asylum for the Insane. Casualties, of which there are many, are still being counted, and the fate of the travelling magician and his retinue performing at the opera house at the time of the freak storm is still unknown.
---

I'm not going anywhere near town tonight. Don't say I didn't warn you!!!

The Cassandra Propaganda show at Sapir/Whorf did not destroy the building. I missed it because I was working the door, and there was a huge line waiting but we couldn't let them in because it was at capacity and the cops totally keep tabs on us, being the "anarchist bookstore" and all. Luckily it wasn't raining.

It's like half the school was there. I've never seen so many psychic kids in town at the same place all at once. Mostly they don't mingle very well with the "townies," and the non-psychic townies are mostly oblivious to their antics. Kids out front were making rainbows (in the dark), will-o'-the-wisp dancing lights, giving themselves animal heads, or wings, space-bending - all the usual stuff those kids do when they're in a big group and showing off to each other but acting cool. The townies can't really see any of that - it doesn't register because they can't comprehend it. But it makes them a little uneasy. Or they just think the psychic kids are stuck-up.

People seemed pretty impressed with the Cassandra Propaganda - psychic and non-psychic alike. But nobody would really explain what they saw. I did see Power Value Stance, and was actually pleasantly surprised. I kind of have a soft spot for that heavy/distortion/shoe-gazer/psych thing. And they made pretty colors - if you're able to see them. There was some synth band that opened but I missed them too.

I went back to clean up today and I did notice something strange. We don't usually have homeless people camping right up against our building, but today there were like 6 or 8 people who were covered with coats and tarps in the alley and around the dumpster. They weren't really hurting anything so I didn't bug them. Didn't get a real good look directly at them, but the hands and faces I did see poking out all seemed kind of, I don't know, electric? Like they had TV static for skin? Grey and shifty and radiant. Or maybe Power Value Stance is still effecting my perception.

So..uh, this show, it's pretty good, right? I haven't seen it yet. I probably should, but.. I don't know. Omega says he wants to see it.
We've also heard rumors from one @Hazel Mektis. What's the show about, and what's this shade surrounding it? I hesitate only for that reason.

That was absolutely the best Cassandra Propaganda show so far. I really loved the addition of the Mysta-GoGos - the dancers they had on the sides of the stage.

I still don't really see how @Hormiga Man does it. That's what so makes their shows worth going to. If you look really closely when he's building the cabinet, you can see it's an Anaktoron - which is like totally a relic, don't know if he inherited that or found it on Craigslist or eBay or what, but it still seems to work.

What I don't get is how he achieves his effect with no apparent distortion product. The cross modulation is clearly evident - where he imposes the signal distortion from one channel over another (our channel, that is) - but what happens to the second-order beats is a complete mystery. The artifacts produced underneath a carrier like that should clearly result in more than just a few pomegranate seeds and sheafs of grain. I'd expect the delayed bandwidth voltage to make something orders of magnitude more complex. Intelligent, event.

I can't wait to see it again. Maybe next time I'll sneak in something to take some readings. Like a BER measurement in QAM mode. Maybe then I can track down its child frequencies and figure it out.

So yeah, @Pearline, the show is SUPER good.
